Woman Steals Funeral Home Van with Dead Body, Abandons Both at the Zoo

FORT WORTH, TX – A shocking incident unfolded this week when a Texas woman was arrested for allegedly stealing a mortuary van that contained a deceased individual. The theft occurred outside a hospital in Fort Worth.

Valerie Traglor-Ellis, 36, from the rural suburb of Azle, faces charges of automobile theft and abuse of a corpse, as per the Fort Worth Police Department. The incident was reported on Tuesday night at around 7 PM.

Police were alerted to the theft from one of the many parking lots at John Peter Smith Psychiatric Hospital on South Main Street.

She later abandoned the body and the van at the Fort Worth Zoo.
