Juvenile Charged with Gun After Tense Situation in Stafford County Averted

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA – A potentially dangerous confrontation involving juveniles and a firearm was defused by deputies from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office on June 14th.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:27 PM in the England Run subdivision, where deputies were on duty with the Special Problems Unit. They were alerted to a possible shooting and quickly responded to the scene.

Investigations revealed that a dispute between a 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old male had escalated to a planned fight at a local park. During the altercation, the 15-year-old brandished a firearm at the younger juvenile. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, despite the presence of numerous bystanders.

The 15-year-old, already known to deputies from prior incidents, was promptly located and detained. He faces criminal complaints for brandishing a firearm and underage possession of a firearm. Given the severity of the situation, Juvenile Intake has detained the juvenile at the Juvenile Detention Center.
