Couple Left Their Three Kids Home Alone While They Went to Casino and Assaulted Each Other

WILKES-BARRE, PA – A violent domestic incident involving Fabio Sanchez, 45, of Nanticoke, and Pamela Cruz Santana, 28, of Wilkes-Barre, led to their arrests early on the morning of June 16, 2024. The altercation occurred at a residence on Lehigh Street and resulted in both parties sustaining injuries.

Wilkes-Barre City Police were called to the scene around 3:46 AM after the couple returned from a local casino and engaged in a physical fight. According to the police report, Cruz claimed Sanchez had struck her multiple times, causing injuries to her head and hands. Sanchez reported that Cruz had cut him with a knife, injuring his face. Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to treat the injuries of both individuals.

Further complicating the situation, police discovered that three young children had been left unattended in the home while Cruz and Sanchez were out. The children were placed in the care of a relative following the incident.

Both Sanchez and Cruz were taken into custody and held for arraignment, facing charges of assault, endangering the welfare of children, and reckless endangerment.
