Fugitive Sought in Newark Assault and Robbery

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 27-year-old Dijuan Johnson, a person of interest in a robbery incident that took place on May 14, 2024.

The event occurred in the 300 block of Clinton Place when a delivery driver was assaulted during a robbery of his vehicle. According to reports, the victim had parked his car and entered a business to make a delivery when three suspects broke into his vehicle, triggering its alarm. As they began to remove boxes, the victim confronted the suspects, one of whom struck him with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground. The suspects continued to assault the victim, kicking him repeatedly before fleeing the scene in a 2011 Kia Sorrento, which police have since recovered.

Dijuan Johnson is wanted for questioning in connection to this violent incident. He is described as being 5’5″ tall and weighing 145 pounds. The Newark Police Department urges anyone with information about Johnson’s whereabouts to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation. Public cooperation is crucial in resolving this case and ensuring the safety of the community.
