Deadly Three-Vehicle Crash in Clinton

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A tragic three-vehicle collision on Route 31 near Riley and Jake’s Restaurant resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 2:19 PM, involved a dump truck driven by a 66-year-old male and a Toyota sedan operated by a 64-year-old female, both heading northbound. After colliding, the sedan veered into the southbound lane, striking a Volkswagen driven by a 17-year-old female.

Arthur John Latzko, 70, from Stroudsburg, PA, a passenger in the Toyota, died at the scene. The drivers of the Toyota and Volkswagen, along with another passenger from the Volkswagen, were transported to hospitals with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

Numerous emergency services, including the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, local police departments, fire and rescue units, paramedics, and the New Jersey Department of Transportation, were dispatched to manage the aftermath of the crash.
