Arrests Made in New Castle County Cosmetic Theft Spree

WILMINGTON, DE—Delaware State Police have apprehended Leticia Rodriguez, 30, and Danielle Serpe, 29, both of Wilmington, Delaware, on charges related to organized retail theft. The arrests followed a string of thefts involving cosmetic products from various stores across New Castle County over the past two months.

On Wednesday, at around 3:48 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the Target at 1050 Brandywine Parkway after reports of two women shoplifting. Rodriguez and Serpe were detained at a nearby bus stop without resistance, and stolen cosmetics were found on their persons and in their belongings. Initially, both provided false identities but were eventually identified properly.

The investigation connected Rodriguez and Serpe to additional thefts at several Walgreens and CVS stores from April 19 to May 29. Surveillance and evidence linked Rodriguez to seven incidents and Serpe to four, where they allegedly stole cosmetics valued at over $9,500.

Following their arrest, both suspects were taken to Troop 1 where they face multiple criminal charges related to their involvement in the thefts.
