Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has announced the arrest of 52-year-old Braulio F. Toral of Hackensack, NJ, following charges that include sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated criminal sexual contact, invasion of privacy, and criminal sexual contact. The arrest concluded a collaborative investigation led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under Chief Matthew Finck and the Hackensack Police Department, headed by Officer-in-Charge Michael Antista.

The Hackensack Police Department initially contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on June 17, 2024, concerning a reported invasion of privacy that had previously occurred. Further investigation uncovered that Toral had illicitly recorded the victim multiple times without their consent in situations where privacy would typically be expected. Moreover, it was discovered that Toral had committed multiple acts of sexual assault against a child, beginning when the child was under the age of thirteen.

Toral was subsequently arrested in Paramus, NJ, as a result of the findings. This case highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to address and act upon serious criminal behaviors in the community.
