DUI Crash on Kings Highway Leads to Serious Charges for Driver

A serious vehicle accident involving a rollover occurred on Kings Highway, leaving two females injured but fortunate to be alive. The incident took place on June 18th around 4:50 a.m., to which Deputy M.A. Holub responded after reports of a vehicle off the roadway in the 1300 block.

Upon arrival, it was evident that the vehicle had been traveling westbound before it crossed the median, rolled over, and ended up on the eastbound side of the highway. The crash left the vehicle’s roof caved in, airbags deployed, and debris scattered across the scene. Notably, amidst the debris, an empty box of Twisted Tea was found, suggesting alcohol involvement.

Both occupants showed clear signs of intoxication, with the driver initially falsely claiming that no one had been driving. Further investigation revealed that the 20-year-old driver’s license had previously been revoked due to another DUI incident.

She faces several charges including driving under the influence, DUI maiming, driving with a revoked license, and reckless driving. Both the driver and the passenger were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries following the crash.
