Gloucester Township Police Seek Suspect Vehicle in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash

The Gloucester Township Police Department is seeking assistance in locating a suspect involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian. The incident occurred on Erial Road near Blackwood Clementon Road in the early hours of June 20th, 2024, at approximately 2:27 AM.

Responding officers found the victim, who has not yet been publicly identified, suffering from serious injuries. The pedestrian was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle involved is a dark-colored SUV, which likely sustained front-end and driver’s side damage from the collision. After striking the pedestrian, the driver fled the scene, heading southeast on Erial Road towards Davistown Road.

The Gloucester Township Police Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT), along with Virtua Paramedics and Inspira Basic Life Support, responded to the scene. Erial Road was temporarily closed between Blackwood Clementon Road and Argyle Ave to facilitate an extensive investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash, the suspect vehicle, or the driver to contact the Gloucester Township Police Department immediately.
