ST. CLAIR COUNTY, MI—A 76-year-old woman from St. Clair County is the latest millionaire thanks to the Michigan Lottery’s $1,000,000 Deluxe Cash instant game. The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, purchased her ticket at a Kroger store located at 66900 Gratiot Avenue in Richmond, about 25 miles southwest of Port Huron.

The lucky player recounted her routine of buying $20 worth of lottery tickets, which on this occasion included two $1,000,000 Deluxe Cash tickets. “I scratched the tickets when I got in my car, and when I saw I’d won $1 million, I thought to myself: ‘This can’t be real!’” she shared. After verifying her win by scanning the ticket back at the store, she realized the prize was indeed legitimate.

She opted to claim her winnings as a lump sum payment of approximately $693,000 instead of receiving annuity payments. With the prize money, she plans to pay off bills and save the remainder. “This prize is going to provide a nice financial cushion for me and my husband,” she expressed, highlighting the significant impact the win will have on their financial security.
