Off-Duty New York City Cop Arrested for Assault and Harassment

QUEENS, NY — On Monday, June 24, 2024, at approximately 1:20 AM, off-duty New York City Police Officer Robeul Islam, 39, was arrested within the confines of the 103rd Precinct.

Officer Islam faces charges of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation. Details regarding the circumstances leading to the arrest have not been disclosed.

The NYPD has initiated an internal investigation following the arrest, and further information will be provided as the case progresses.

Officer Islam started with the department in 2017 and has no prior incidents in his police record.
