Burglary Thwarted in Laurel; Suspects Arrested

LAUREL, MD – A late-night burglary attempt was disrupted by police in Laurel on June 25, 2024. Officers responded to a reported burglary in progress around 12:50 a.m. at a residence in the 8200 block of Brushyridge Road.

Upon arrival, police discovered three male suspects inside a vacant apartment. The suspects attempted to flee on foot; however, one was quickly apprehended after a brief chase. A second suspect was located with the help of K9 officer “Yago” and additional police personnel. A loaded stolen 9mm handgun was found in the vicinity of the second suspect’s apprehension, thanks to K9 “Quinn.”
