Fire Damages Boat and Sheds in Conowingo

CONOWINGO, MD—A significant fire occurred early Monday morning at 699 Conowingo Road, impacting local resident Avanell Hipkins’ property. The incident, which was reported at 12:25 AM, involved a boat and two sheds, leading to considerable financial loss.

The Community Fire Department of Rising Sun responded to the emergency with 25 firefighters who managed to control the blaze within 20 minutes. The structures involved suffered an estimated $13,000 in damage, with an additional $2,000 loss to contents. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and it was initially spotted by a passerby.
