Shooting Leaves One Dead in SoHo

MANHATTAN, NY—A shooting incident early Tuesday morning claimed the life of a 31-year-old man in SoHo. Police were called to the scene in front of 41 Greene Street around 5:16 AM following a 911 report. Upon arrival, officers found Javier Osorio-Mejia, unresponsive and unconscious, with a gunshot wound to his right thigh.

Emergency Medical Services transported Osorio-Mejia to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was later pronounced deceased. Osorio-Mejia, a resident of Bayonne, NJ, lived at 18 West 29 Street.

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation is actively continuing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in solving this case.
