Woman Arrested for Assaulting Police Officer in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, VA—Alejandra Yvette Garcia, a 22-year-old resident of Woodbridge, was arrested on charges related to the assault of a law enforcement officer. The incident initially occurred on June 21 and led to her arrest four days later on June 25.

The confrontation took place at the intersection of Saxophone Way and Bel Air Rd. in Woodbridge. Officers, aware of Garcia’s active arrest warrants, attempted to detain her. Garcia resisted arrest, initiating a foot chase. She managed to strike an officer during the attempt to detain her, which allowed her a brief moment to escape before being apprehended again.

Garcia faces charges of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer (LEO) and obstruction of justice. She is currently held without bond, with a court date pending. The incident underscores the risks faced by officers daily and the consequences of obstructing law enforcement duties.
