Westmoreland County Woman Sentenced for Shooting Incident

Greensburg, PA — The Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli announced the sentencing of Fauna McDowell, 35, following her guilty plea to charges stemming from a November 2023 shooting incident. McDowell was sentenced to 9-23 months in jail plus two years of probation for aggravated assault and terroristic threats.

The charges were filed after Pennsylvania State Police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Pennsylvania Lane in St. Clair Township. During the altercation, McDowell fired several shots toward her estranged husband, though no injuries were reported.

Justin McDowell, the other party involved, also faced legal repercussions, pleading guilty in December to terroristic threats, simple assault, and a weapons-related charge. He received a sentence ranging from two to 23 months in jail.

District Attorney Ziccarelli credited the Pennsylvania State Police for their effective investigation and ADA Jim Lazar for his role in prosecuting the case.
