Brooklyn Man Found Shot Dead Inside Parked Car Identified

Brooklyn, NY — The Brooklyn community is reeling from a tragic incident that has now been classified as a homicide by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner. Naveed Afzal, a 52-year-old man from Brooklyn, succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained during an attack on June 20, 2024.

The incident occurred around 10:00 PM when Afzal was seated in his black Mercedes Benz parked in front of 320 Lincoln Place. According to police reports, two unidentified individuals were in the back of the vehicle when one of them produced a firearm and shot Afzal in the face. The assailants fled on foot in an unknown direction immediately after the attack.

Emergency services rushed Afzal to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where he later passed away on June 23, 2024. The investigation into his death continues as authorities seek information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspects involved in this heinous crime.
