Philadelphia Man Fatally Shot on Kerper Street

Philadelphia, PA — A tragic incident unfolded early Sunday morning, June 30, 2024, when Philadelphia Police were called to the scene of a shooting at 1400 Kerper Street. Upon arrival at approximately 3:17 AM, officers discovered 43-year-old Calton Brown unresponsive on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his head.

Philadelphia Fire Medics #12 quickly responded to the scene and pronounced Brown dead at 3:24 AM. The initial call to the police was prompted by a report of a “Person with a Gun,” and officers were directed to the location after being alerted by a civilian about a body on the highway near 67XX Castor Avenue.

Currently, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been made. The Philadelphia Police Department is conducting a thorough investigation into the homicide and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
