Police Say Shed Fire Intentionally Set by Two Juveniles

SALISBURY, MD – Authorities are investigating a shed fire that occurred on Monday at 1200 Nokomis Avenue, Salisbury. The incident, which took place at 2:29 PM, involved an 8′ x 12′ wood-framed shed owned by Charles Capute and Robert Dashiell and occupied by Mary Polk.

There were no reported injuries or deaths from the fire. The estimated loss includes $6,000 for the structure and $2,500 for the contents. The fire, which was discovered by a passerby, originated from the exterior of the shed. It took 12 firefighters from the Salisbury Fire Department 10 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The fire has been preliminarily classified as incendiary, indicating it was intentionally set. Two juveniles are pending arrest in connection with the incident, and juvenile referrals will be sent to the Department of Juvenile Services.
