Hartly Man Arrested for Reckless Endangering Following DUI Crash

Hartly, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested 26-year-old Steven Wolinski of Hartly, Delaware, on several felony charges following a crash into a residence in Hartly.

On Tuesday, at approximately 6:05 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a Chevrolet Silverado that had crashed into an occupied house on the 4000 block of Arthursville Road. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived. Upon arrival, troopers conducted a search and located the driver, identified as Steven Wolinski. He was apprehended and transported to Troop 3.

During the interaction with Wolinski, troopers observed multiple signs of impairment, which he refused to confirm through field sobriety tests. A subsequent search of the Silverado uncovered a loaded firearm and open alcoholic beverage containers. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident.

Wolinski was charged with several felony offenses, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and subsequently committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $76,102 secured bond.
