Alexandria Police Recover Stolen Vehicle and Make Arrests

Alexandria, VA – Early Tuesday morning, Alexandria Police Department (APD) officers on patrol located a stolen Lexus identified by one of their License Plate Readers (LPR). The vehicle, reported stolen from Prince William County, was stopped by officers in the 5300 block of N. Morgan Street.

The driver was apprehended during the traffic stop, while the passenger fled on foot. After a brief pursuit, the passenger was also apprehended. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered suspected narcotics.

The driver has been charged with Drug Possession (Schedule I), Grand Larceny, and Driving on a Revoked License.

Stolen vehicles often lead to further crimes. LPR technology allows officers to respond quickly and prevent additional criminal activity. APD extends thanks to their Patrol and K9 Officers for their efforts in this significant arrest.

The suspects’ names have not been released.
