Allentown Man Arrested for February Murder

ALLENTOWN, PA — The Allentown Police Department and District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced the arrest of Roberto Gonzalez for his involvement in a homicide that took place on February 17, 2024. Gonzalez, a resident of Allentown born on April 21, 1999, faces multiple charges including criminal homicide and illegal possession of a firearm.

The incident, which led to the death of 33-year-old Miguel S. Dalmasi of Alburtis, occurred during a birthday celebration for a 1-year-old child at the corner of South Dauphin and East Walnut streets. Police responded to a shooting call at about 7:48 p.m., where they found Dalmasi deceased with multiple gunshot wounds. The Lehigh County coroner’s office subsequently ruled Dalmasi’s death a homicide.

Following his arrest on July 8, 2024, Gonzalez was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Manescu. He has been denied bail and is currently held at Lehigh County Jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 15, 2024, at 9:45 a.m. at Lehigh County’s Central Court.
