Man Arrested for Threatening Public Official

Cumberland, MD – On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department executed a Circuit Court bench warrant for Brian Elsworth Johnson. The warrant was issued due to Johnson’s violation of probation. He was initially charged with threatening a state official with the intent to injure.

Johnson, 59, was arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond. He is awaiting his appearance before the court.
