Baltimore Police Seize Over 1,100 Guns in Ongoing Violence Reduction Effort

Baltimore, MD – Baltimore Police officers are intensifying their crackdown on violence within the city, seizing a significant number of weapons in recent operations. Among the latest confiscations are multiple firearms recovered on July 10 and 11, contributing to the year-to-date total of 1,172 guns seized.

On the evening of July 10, a 14-year-old male was apprehended in the 900 block of Harford Court, found in possession of a GSG .22 caliber rifle. Earlier that day, a 17-year-old male was arrested in the 3800 block of Hayward Avenue with a Glock equipped with an extended magazine. The following day, a 30-year-old male was taken into custody in the 600 block of Allendale Street and found with a Taurus G3C 9mm handgun.

The Baltimore Police Department encourages citizens to continue reporting illegal activities to 911 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup, where callers can remain anonymous. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to curb the rising tide of violence and ensure community safety.
