Motorcyclist Killed in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD—A tragic motorcycle accident resulted in the death of a young motorcyclist at a busy intersection in Montgomery County on Saturday afternoon. The Montgomery County Department of Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the incident.

The collision occurred around 5:00 PM at the intersection of Old Georgetown Road and Tilden Lane. Responding were officers from the 2nd District and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel. The accident involved a motorcycle and a van, leading to significant disruption and an intensive emergency response.

Ezekial Solomon, a 19-year-old from Silver Spring, was identified as the deceased. He was riding a black and white 2013 BMW S 1000 RR motorcycle northbound on Old Georgetown Road when he collided with a maroon 2018 Honda Odyssey. The Honda was traveling south and was in the process of making a left turn onto eastbound Nicholson Lane when the crash happened.

The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, reporting no injuries. Solomon was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation remains active and ongoing as authorities work to determine the precise cause of the collision and any contributing factors.
