Child Dead After Being Left in Scorching Car in Lakewood for Two Hours

LAKEWOOD, NJ – Days after a child was left in a hot car in Howell and needed to be treated medically for heat exposure, a child has been reported dead in nearby Lakewood Township.

An eight-week-old infant was left in a car for nearly two hours and died Monday afternoon. The child was left in the car outside a Yeshiva. By the time paramedics arrived, it was too late. The child was declared deceased at the scene.

The child was later identified as Chana Ahuvah. The incident happened at Kollel Cheshek Shlomo, just east of the Jackson border on Route 528.

The outside temperature at the time of the incident was approximately 96 degrees.

It is not known at this time if any charges have been filed.
