Theft on Northbound “7” Train: Suspect Sought by NYPD

NEW YORK, NY – A 41-year-old man fell victim to theft while aboard a northbound “7” train, with the incident occurring early on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at approximately 6:30 AM. The crime was reported after the victim awoke at the 61 Street and Roosevelt Avenue train station.

The victim discovered that both of his pockets had been cut open and his wallet was missing. It was reported that an unidentified male had approached the victim while he was asleep on the train and executed the theft. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene to an unknown location. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries during the encounter.

The NYPD is actively seeking information regarding the unidentified individual and urges anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation.
