Newark Police Seek Information on Hit and Run Incident

NEWARK, DE – A 67-year-old man was seriously injured in a suspected hit and run incident early Tuesday morning, according to the Newark Police Department. The incident occurred on northbound South College Avenue near Plymouth Drive at approximately 5:25 AM on July 16.

Upon receiving notification from the New Castle County Police, who first located the injured man, Newark officers were dispatched to the scene. There, the Traffic Response Unit found evidence suggesting that the victim was struck by a vehicle, which subsequently fled without contacting emergency services.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The vehicle involved is believed to be a dark-colored, smaller SUV with possible passenger-side damage.
