CHICAGO, IL – A 42-year-old man was fatally shot while sitting in a parked vehicle early Monday morning. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. in the 9800 block of South Ellis Avenue.
According to police, the victim was shot once in the head by an unknown assailant who fled the scene. The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet identified the deceased. Area Two detectives are conducting an investigation, and no arrests have been made.
