Shooting Leads to Arrest in Severn

SEVERN, MD — A Severn man has been arrested following a shooting incident where he allegedly discharged a firearm near several individuals without causing physical injuries. The event occurred on Thursday evening, around 6:45 PM, in the 8400 block of Jacobs Road.

According to the police report, James R. Frend Jr., aged 33, emerged from his residence, brandished a handgun, and fired a round into the ground while in proximity to several victims. No injuries were reported from the incident. Police promptly responded, securing the weapon and arresting Frend at the scene.

Frend is currently facing charges related to the aggressive and unlawful display of a firearm. This incident underscores ongoing concerns regarding gun safety and public security within the community.
