Weapons and Drugs Found During Glen Burnie Traffic Stop

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A traffic stop in Glen Burnie on Thursday led to the arrest of a 24-year-old Ellicott City man, Darion Montez Straughn, after police discovered a loaded handgun and a significant quantity of suspected cannabis in his vehicle. The incident occurred around 12:45 PM at the intersection of Elvaton Road and Silent Breeze Court.

Straughn was initially stopped for a routine check, during which it was revealed he had an active arrest warrant. A subsequent search of his gray 2024 Honda resulted in the seizure of approximately 288 grams of suspected cannabis and a loaded handgun. Straughn is now facing charges related to weapons and controlled dangerous substances violations.
