Early Morning Gunfire Injures Man in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was injured in a shooting early Wednesday morning in Southeast D.C.

Around 4 a.m., police responded to the 500 block of Newcomb Street, SE, to investigate reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound in the area of MLK Jr. Avenue, SE, and Malcolm X Avenue, SE. The victim was conscious and breathing.

Details about the incident are limited, and the police are actively investigating the scene on Newcomb Street.
