Allentown Man Arrested Following Domestic Disturbance and Gunfire Incident

Allentown, PA — On Friday, July 26, at 8:47 a.m., officers with the Allentown Police Department responded to a home in the 500 block of North 13th Street following a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers heard gunshots coming from inside the residence.

Officers entered the home and found evidence of recent gunfire, quickly determining that the shooter had fled from the rear of the house. The suspect was located a short time later hiding in the basement of a neighboring home. The suspect was apprehended without further incident and was found in possession of a 9mm handgun.

The suspect has been identified as Joel Reyes, 30, of Allentown. Reyes faces charges of discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, recklessly endangering another person, persons not to possess firearms, and criminal trespass.
