EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Multiple people were killed in a crash on the Black Horse Pike late Friday night, according to local police.

Egg Harbor Police Captain Cherie Burgan reported that details about the crash were still forthcoming as of 10:40 p.m. The collision occurred on a busy section of the highway, prompting authorities to close the road in both directions.

The Black Horse Pike, a major thoroughfare spanning several towns in Atlantic County, was shut down as police conducted their investigation into the fatal incident.
