Delaware State Police Investigate Bank Robbery and Carjacking in Bear

Bear, DE — Delaware State Police are actively investigating a bank robbery and subsequent carjacking that occurred this morning at the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union in Bear.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on July 27, 53-year-old Timothy Halsey allegedly entered the credit union at 1102 Quintilio Drive, presented a demand note, and ransacked the property of bank employees. The employees complied, and Halsey fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

After fleeing the bank, Halsey ran across the parking lot to 1247 Quintilio Drive, near Aha South Indian Cuisine, where he carjacked a 2020 gray Honda Odyssey minivan, bearing Delaware registration PC340937. Halsey is described as a bald white male with a goatee and tattoos on his neck and legs.

Detectives are currently working to locate both Halsey and the stolen vehicle. Anyone with information is urged to contact Delaware State Police.
