Fatal Shooting in Franklinton Leaves One Dead, Another Injured

COLUMBUS, OH — A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning in the Franklinton neighborhood, resulting in one fatality and another person hospitalized. Columbus police reported that the double shooting took place around 1:43 a.m. on the 300 block of South Glenwood Avenue.

Jacob Coons, 25, was found deceased at the scene shortly after at 1:50 a.m. The second victim, whose identity has not been released, is receiving medical treatment and is expected to recover from their injuries.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the shooting. The Columbus Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case and urges anyone with information to come forward by calling 614-645-4730.
