Vacant Home Fire in Cecil County Causes Significant Damage

Conowingo, MD – A structure fire occurred on Sunday, July 28, at 8:27 PM, at 370 Old Mill Road in Conowingo, Cecil County. The incident involved a vacant manufactured home owned by Joanne Pugh.

The 60′ x 28′ structure was found engulfed in flames, with no injuries or deaths reported. The fire caused an estimated $18,000 in structural damage and $2,000 in content loss. The status of smoke alarms is unknown, and there were no fire alarms or sprinkler systems present.

The Water Witch Fire Company was the primary responding fire department, with 40 firefighters arriving on the scene. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes. The owner discovered the fire, and its origin was determined to be the interior of the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
