Man Shot and Killed Outside Philadelphia Mosque

Philadelphia, PA – A fatal shooting occurred this evening outside the Al-Aqsa Islamic Society located at the intersection of Germantown & Oxford Avenues in Philadelphia, resulting in the death of one man.

The victim was shot in the head at close range as he was about to enter the mosque. The assailant reportedly approached from behind and fired several shots.

The victim was quickly transported by police to Temple Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:13 PM.

In a possibly related incident, another male presented himself at the Jefferson Hospital Emergency Room with a gunshot wound to the groin. Authorities are currently investigating his involvement in the shooting at the mosque.

The police are seeking witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the area to gather more information on the assailant and the sequence of events leading to this tragic incident. The community is urged to come forward with any information that could assist in resolving the case.
