Poughkeepsie Man Faces Multiple Charges After Assaulting Deputy at Crash Scene

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY—Jordon A. Robin, a 27-year-old from Poughkeepsie, has been charged following a vehicular accident and subsequent assault on a deputy in the Town of LaGrange. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred around midnight on Saturday, July 29, near the intersection of Titusville Rd and Red Oaks Mill Rd.

Responding to the crash scene, deputies identified Robin as the driver, with a young child also present in the vehicle.

During the investigation, Robin reportedly became combative, interfering with emergency medical services attempting to assist the child.

This altercation escalated to Robin biting and physically assaulting a deputy.

Robin was eventually subdued and taken into custody but continued to exhibit aggressive behavior, allegedly causing damage to a patrol car during his transport.

He now faces several charges including Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated under Leandra’s Law, a felony, Second-Degree Assault on a police officer, Third-Degree Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle.

Following processing, Robin was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of LaGrange Court on Monday, August 6.
