Smash and Grab Robbery Reported at Philadelphia Jewelry Store

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A jewelry store on Arch Street was the scene of a dramatic armed robbery on Wednesday afternoon. Philadelphia Police Department’s 9th District officers responded to the incident around 3 PM after receiving a report of the robbery.

Upon arrival, police gathered details from the store’s staff. An unidentified male had entered the store, approached a rear display case containing 24-carat jewelry, and brandished a black firearm to prevent any calls to the police.

He then produced what appeared to be a hammer from a bag, shattered the glass case, and stole four trays of jewelry.

The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot westbound on Arch Street towards 10th Street. Authorities are actively searching for the suspect and have asked anyone with information to come forward to help with the ongoing investigation.
