Early Morning Shooting in D.C. Leaves Man Dead

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A fatal shooting in Northeast has claimed the life of 29-year-old Phillip Williams, prompting an investigation by the D.C. Metro Police.

The incident occurred early Monday at around 2:46 a.m. in the 3500 block of Ames Street, Northeast. Responding officers found Williams, who had no fixed address, unconscious and not breathing, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.

The D.C. Metro Police are urging anyone with information about this tragic event to contact them at (202) 727-9099 or to text tips to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this or any other homicide in the District.
