Glen Burnie Resident Wins $6,000 from Orioles’ Grand Slam

GLEN BURNIE, MD—Local resident Timothy Jeffries experienced a spectacular win, not only from watching his favorite team, the Baltimore Orioles, but also from his participation in the Maryland Lottery’s Home Run Riches Contest.

During a July 31 game against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Orioles hit a grand slam, securing Jeffries a $6,000 prize.

Jeffries, the sixth Home Run Riches Contestant of the Game this season to benefit from a grand slam, originally joined the contest through the FAST PLAY Home Run Riches Bases Loaded second-chance promotion.

In this year’s addition to the contest, participants enter tickets into their My Lottery Rewards account to become eligible. Selected contestants win $500 just for being chosen for one of the Orioles’ 162 regular-season games, with additional earnings for home runs, particularly grand slams which earn them $5,000.

Witnessing the grand slam by rookie Jackson Holliday, Jeffries described his excitement and plans following his win. He intends to enjoy a bushel of crabs and save the remainder of his winnings, emphasizing the rarity and thrill of seeing a grand slam in person.

The final drawing for the season’s promotion is set for August 27, stirring anticipation among other hopeful contestants.
