Handgun Seized After Traffic Violation in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD—A routine patrol by the Western District Action Team of the Baltimore Police Department led to a significant arrest on the evening of August 1.

At approximately 10:14 PM, officers in the 600 block of Cumberland Street observed a vehicle committing a traffic violation. The situation escalated when the driver attempted to evade police.

After a brief pursuit, detectives successfully stopped the vehicle and during the ensuing investigation, they discovered a Taurus 9mm handgun along with ammunition.

The 35-year-old male driver was issued traffic citations and subsequently transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility for further processing. This incident underscores the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to address gun-related crimes in the community.
