Woman Killed in Route 32 Crash

COLUMBIA, MD—A tragic accident occurred on Route 32 overnight, resulting in the death of a woman driving a 2013 Ford Explorer. Howard County police reported that the incident took place around 2:20 AM when the Ford Explorer, traveling westbound, struck the slow shoulder guardrail for undetermined reasons. The vehicle then veered across three lanes and collided with the concrete barrier on the opposite side.

Subsequently, a 2023 Honda HR-V, also traveling westbound, collided with the disabled Ford Explorer.

The driver of the Ford was rushed to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was later pronounced dead. The occupants of the Honda HR-V did not sustain injuries.

The accident led to the closure of westbound Route 32 from I-95 for about three hours as investigations were conducted.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash.
