Police Seek Suspect in Attempted Robbery of Elderly Woman on Grand Concourse

BRONX, NY—The NYPD is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an attempted robbery that occurred on Monday, July 29, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM in front of 940 Grand Concourse. An 83-year-old woman was approached by an individual on a bike who then verbally threatened her and attempted to snatch her purse.

Despite his efforts, the robbery attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading eastbound on East 163rd Street. The elderly victim sustained minor injuries in the altercation but did not require hospitalization.

The suspect is described as a male, aged 20–30, with a slim build and medium complexion. He was last observed wearing a blue Yankee baseball hat, white t-shirt, black pants, and multi-color sneakers.
