Failed Escape: Man Arrested After Breaking into Acquaintance’s Home

WHITETAIL WAY, VA—A 31-year-old man, identified as Jacob Hudson, was arrested after a failed attempt to escape law enforcement following a breaking and entering incident.

The event unfolded on Tuesday morning around 6:42 AM when Deputy F.C. O’Neill was called to a residence on Whitetail Way. The suspect, previously barred from the property, had unlawfully entered the home, stealing a car key and Hershey Kisses, before rummaging through the victim’s vehicle.

After Deputy O’Neill located Hudson on Hartlake Road, Hudson attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of the stolen car key.

Hudson, who does not have a permanent address, has been charged with breaking and entering with intent to steal, trespassing, unlawful entry, and fleeing from law enforcement.

He is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
