NYPD Manhunt for Murder Suspect in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are in search of a second suspect wanted for a deadly shooting in Brooklyn in July.

A fatal shooting occurred on July 24 at approximately 6:26 PM near 68 Marcus Garvey Boulevard in the Sumner Houses, under the jurisdiction of the 79th Precinct and PSA 3. Police responding to a 911 call discovered a 32-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim, found unconscious and unresponsive, was transported by EMS to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities have arrested 28-year-old Aaron Granton, a resident of 67 Marcus Garvey Boulevard, in connection with the incident. Granton faces charges of second-degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Police are actively searching for a second suspect, 24-year-old Damon Gaitor for his role in this murder.

Described as having a heavy build and braids, Gaitor is currently considered a wanted fugitive. The investigation is ongoing as authorities urge anyone with information to come forward to assist with the case.
