Parts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania Under Tornado Warning As Debby Passes

The warning follows the detection of a severe thunderstorm with tornado capabilities near Littlestown, moving north at 35 mph.

The storm, noted for radar-indicated rotation, poses significant hazards including potential tornado formation. Flying debris from the tornado could pose a danger to anyone caught outside without proper shelter. Areas expected to be impacted shortly include Hanover, Parkville, and Littlestown around 8:30 AM EDT, followed by Hampton and New Oxford around 8:40 AM EDT, and East Berlin by 8:50 AM EDT. Abbottstown is also in the path of this dangerous storm.

Residents are urged to take immediate cover, preferably in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows. Those outdoors, in mobile homes, or in vehicles should seek the nearest substantial shelter and protect themselves from potential flying debris.
