Another Kid Robbed at Knifepoint Inside New York City Subway Station

BRONX, N.Y. — A 16-year-old male was robbed at knifepoint by three unidentified individuals inside the Zerega Avenue subway station on Thursday afternoon, police reported.

The subway system in New York is still dangerous despite officials boasting about crime being down citywide.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:25 p.m. on the southbound platform of the 6 train. The three suspects approached the teenager and demanded his belongings before forcibly taking them. When the victim tried to retrieve his property, one of the suspects displayed a knife, according to police.

The suspects then fled the scene on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

Police are searching for three male suspects, all described as being between 18 and 20 years old. The first suspect was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, and black sneakers. The second suspect, who displayed the knife, was wearing a black hat, gray Nike hoodie, gray pants, gray sneakers, and a black cross-body bag. The third suspect was last seen wearing a black hat, white t-shirt, light-colored shorts, and black sneakers.

The New York City Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward.
