Frederick Police Arrest Suspect in Heather Ridge Drive Homicide

FREDERICK, MD (Saturday, August 17, 2024) — The Frederick Police Department has arrested Elijah Stephen Mboss in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred late Friday night on Heather Ridge Drive.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 11:45 p.m. and discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The officers provided immediate medical assistance to the victim until EMS personnel arrived. The victim was then transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Mboss was apprehended shortly after the incident during a traffic stop near the crime scene. Police linked him to the homicide and took him into custody without incident. He now faces charges of first and second-degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and determine the motive behind the shooting.
